Top Clubs Enter Race for Yan Diomande Transfer

Yan Diomande’s future has emerged as one of the most eagerly watched transfer stories this summer. Arsenal, Manchester City, and Real Madrid are all reportedly prepared to match Liverpool’s hefty €100 million bid for the RB Leipzig winger. Meanwhile, Diomande remains in a waiting game, eager to see if his preferred club, Paris Saint-Germain, can turn their interest into a formal offer.

The transfer saga escalated when Liverpool made the initial move with a rejected €100 million offer, prompting other top clubs to enter the fray. According to reports, Arsenal is keen to reinforce its squad following Leandro Trossard’s exit, and Diomande has become a target for manager Mikel Arteta. Concurrently, Manchester City and Real Madrid are closely monitoring the situation, recognizing Diomande’s potential as a generational talent.

Despite the interest from the Premier League and La Liga, Diomande still favors PSG as his desired destination. He has reportedly agreed on personal terms for a deal that would run until 2031. However, until PSG submits a formal bid to Leipzig, the player remains in limbo.

Although a €100 million offer would break records for most clubs, Leipzig is holding out for an even steeper price. The Bundesliga team has set a minimum asking figure of €120 million for their prized winger. Nevertheless, a possible obstacle for Diomande’s move to PSG lies in the structure of the deal. Leipzig prefers to include a loan-back clause that would allow the winger to remain in Germany for an additional season. The level of interest surrounding Diomande is understandable, given the impact he made during his first campaign in the Bundesliga. After joining Leipzig from Leganes last summer, the young talent finished the 2025-26 season with an impressive tally of 12 goals and eight assists over 33 appearances, becoming the fourth-youngest player in Bundesliga history to hit double figures for goals in a single season at 19 years and 114 days old. His contributions were vital in securing Leipzig’s Champions League qualification.

In the World Cup, Diomande played a significant role for Ivory Coast, starting all four of their matches. He logged 332 minutes on the field and provided one assist before the Elephants were knocked out in the round of 32 following a 2-1 defeat to Norway.
