Young Thug Launches ‘Slime Language 3’ with New Features

‘Slime Language 3’ has finally arrived.

After months of anticipation, Young Thug came to NYC’s Irving Plaza in July with what has been branded the “new YSL” and made the album on stream, leading to its official release.

Following Thugger’s lengthy trial and Gunna taking a plea deal, which resulted in a fallout between the two, Gunna is notably absent from this project. As is customary with the Slime Language series, the focus is on showcasing talent from the YSL roster.

The new installment features a mix of both newer YSL artists from the underground rap scene and established members. The lineup includes 1300Saint, Yung Kayo, Unfoonk, Iyrus, BSlime, Biggs Money, Lil Unky, Yume, the late Lil Keed, and the ØWAY collective led by Tezzus and diamond*. ØWAY, which is signed under Thug’s label, also features Sk8star, Lil Righteous, Pz’, and others.

With an impressive total of 41 tracks, ‘Slime Language 3’ runs for two hours and 15 minutes. Young Thug clarified via a surprise Instagram post that the album is divided into SIDE A and SIDE B, which contain 21 and 20 tracks respectively. Each side also boasts its own unique cover art.

The first cover features Thugger and the rest of YSL recreating a scene that fans speculate may be inspired by Dan Witz’s mosh pit artwork.

In addition to the core roster, the album includes verses from a variety of artists outside YSL, such as Lil Baby, Yeat, Travis Scott, Future, Trippie Redd, Quavo, Cash Cobain, Jorjiana, Bay Swag, Mariah the Scientist, YKNiece, Veeze, Skrilla, Rob49, Rundown Zay, Papito El Franklins, Lito The Plug, HittMan, and Lil Righteous.

Producer Mike Dean handled mixing duties for the album, as shared by Thug in a story posted before the release.

‘Slime Language 3’ was originally set to drop at midnight on August 28th. However, it faced delays due to final touches being made, as confirmed by Diamond* through an update on the YSL Instagram page.

Possible reasons for the delay included influential fashion designer Ian Connor, who has been assisting Thug in scouting new talent and recently welcomed a baby, which also contributed to the project’s timing.

The album made its debut on Friday afternoon, initially available on Spotify, before being released on Apple Music shortly thereafter.
