Tragic weekend on Irish roads as three men lose their lives in separate accidents across Donegal, Kildare, and Cork.
Three men have tragically lost their lives in distinct road traffic incidents that unfolded over the weekend in counties Donegal, Kildare, and Cork.
The first fatality occurred in County Donegal around 21:10 local time on Saturday. A man in his 20s was involved in a two-car crash at Kinnego Cross in Ballymagan.
Later that evening, at approximately 20:00, a motorcyclist in his 30s died in a collision with a jeep on the N20 at Castlewrixon, Ballyhea, County Cork.
In another incident, a motorcyclist in his 50s lost his life in a single vehicle collision at Killick, situated in Kilcock, County Kildare, at around 10:45 local time on Saturday.
Gardaí, the Irish police, confirmed that the coroner had been notified regarding all three fatalities. In addition to the deaths, a number of people sustained injuries in two of the accidents.
In the crash in County Donegal, a man in his 20s, along with a teenage boy and girl, was transported to Letterkenny University Hospital for medical treatment. Fortunately, their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the jeep involved in the Cork crash, a man in his 80s, was also taken to the hospital; his injuries are similarly reported as non-life-threatening.
In light of these incidents, Gardaí are reaching out to the public for any information. They have specifically requested that anyone who may have witnessed the collisions or possessed dash-cam footage come forward to assist in their inquiries.
