Tesla is recalling 20,349 vehicles in the U.S. due to low-beam headlights that may impair visibility, raising concerns over driver safety.
Tesla is initiating a recall of 20,349 vehicles in the United States over concerns about excessively bright low-beam headlights. This issue, highlighted by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), poses a potential risk of reducing visibility for oncoming drivers, which could lead to an increase in crash incidents.
The NHTSA identified the brightness of the low-beam headlights as a significant concern during its investigations. Although the danger posed by these headlights is notable, no accidents have been officially linked to this particular issue thus far. The recall encompasses a range of Tesla models manufactured between 2020 and 2023, including the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X.
In compliance with federal regulations, Tesla has notified affected owners and will address the situation by recalibrating the vehicle’s headlights. This action aims to ensure that the low-beam lights are within the acceptable brightness levels required for safety standards.

Tesla’s proactive response reflects its commitment to vehicle safety and customer satisfaction. The company encourages owners of the affected vehicles to check their notifications and schedule the necessary adjustments at their nearest service center.
The recall comes at a time when electric vehicle manufacturers are increasingly under scrutiny for safety practices, emphasizing the importance of adhering to regulatory standards in the fast-evolving automotive market.
Thus far, Tesla has shown a willingness to address issues promptly, which is crucial for maintaining consumer trust. The NHTSA continues to monitor the situation to ensure that the safety of both drivers and pedestrians remains a priority.
