Manchester City Target Chelsea Wing for Savinho Replacement

Manchester City eyes Chelsea’s Pedro Neto as a potential replacement for Savinho, who aims for a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City is reportedly considering a summer transfer for Chelsea winger Pedro Neto to fill the void left by Savinho, who is seeking a move to Tottenham Hotspur. The Brazilian forward has struggled for playing time at the Etihad Stadium and is eyeing a transfer after a disappointing season.

Recent reports suggest that Neto is a prime target for City as they look to strengthen their attacking options should Savinho depart. The Tottenham-bound forward has drawn interest from Spurs who have been monitoring his situation for the past year and see him as a priority signing, alongside Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo.

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca, who previously worked with Neto at Chelsea, is keen on the winger’s addition to the squad. Neto has performed consistently since his £54 million transfer from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2024, featuring in 54 league matches and contributing 21 goal involvements, including nine goals.

However, Neto’s future at Chelsea appears increasingly uncertain under new manager Xabi Alonso. With Chelsea recently investing heavily in their squad, highlighted by the £117 million signing of Morgan Rogers, Neto could be relegated to a minor role, prompting him to seek regular first-team opportunities elsewhere.

Manchester City isn’t the only club vying for Neto this summer; Liverpool also views him as an ideal candidate to replace Mohamed Salah, who announced his departure from Anfield at the end of the season. AC Milan is also keeping a close eye on the situation, given their new manager Ruben Amorim’s intent to bolster the squad following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Before Manchester City can make a formal bid for Neto, they first need to finalize Savinho’s departure. Tottenham is expected to accelerate talks over his transfer in the coming weeks, and once that deal is done, City will likely move quickly to secure Neto’s signature ahead of Liverpool and AC Milan.
