Luka Modric Signs One-Year Extension with AC Milan

AC Milan has officially announced that iconic midfielder Luka Modric will extend his contract with the club for another year. The Croatian maestro, who has been instrumental since joining the Rossoneri, will now remain at the San Siro until June 30, 2027, squashing any rumors of his potential retirement.

This contract extension comes at a crucial time for new head coach Ruben Amorim, who took the reins after a difficult 2025-26 season where AC Milan finished fifth, missing out on Champions League qualification. Modric, motivated by the recent disappointment with Milan and Croatia—having exited the World Cup in the round of 32—aims to end his illustrious career on a high note. Plans to retire from international duty following a farewell match on October 6 will allow Modric to focus entirely on AC Milan’s ambitions.

Despite turning 41 this September, Modric remains one of Serie A’s respected performers.
