Liverpool aims to sign Bradley Barcola, but negotiations stall for Ibrahim Mbaye due to PSG’s high asking price as transfer deadline approaches.
Liverpool FC is making progress in its efforts to secure the signing of Bradley Barcola as the transfer deadline approaches. However, the club faces serious challenges in acquiring his Paris Saint-Germain teammate, Ibrahim Mbaye, due to a hefty €70 million asking price set by the French champions.
Reports indicate that while negotiations for Barcola are moving swiftly, discussions regarding Mbaye have slowed significantly. PSG’s demand for a €70 million transfer fee is proving prohibitive for Liverpool, which has evaluated the winger at closer to €50 million.
As the deadline looms, Liverpool appears willing to explore other avenues while trying to balance their pursuit of both players. If Liverpool cannot meet PSG’s valuation for Mbaye, it may turn its attention to alternatives such as Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh.
Furthermore, despite being informed that he could leave, Mbaye remains uncertain about his future given PSG’s strict stance on his price. With two years remaining on his contract, the situation has raised questions among interested clubs about PSG’s intentions.
Both Barcola and Mbaye have reportedly expressed frustration over their prolonged transfer situations, and neither is expected to feature in the upcoming match against Rennes. As they await resolution, Liverpool must now decide how to proceed with their bids as the clock ticks down on the transfer window.
Liverpool’s management will need to weigh the value of increasing their offer for Mbaye against securing Barcola before the window closes. With only ten days left for negotiations, time is of the essence for both clubs in their dealings.
