Liverpool Agrees €135m Transfer for Bradley Barcola

Liverpool has reached an agreement with PSG for the transfer of forward Bradley Barcola in a deal worth €135 million.

Liverpool Football Club has reportedly reached a significant agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the transfer of forward Bradley Barcola. The deal, which is valued at approximately £120 million (€140 million), includes over £100 million in guaranteed payments, reflecting the club’s determination to bolster their attacking options.

Key figures in the negotiations include Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes, CEO Billy Hogan, and Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon, while PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi represents the French giants. As the clock ticks, final details are being finalized, though no contract has yet been signed.

This potential transfer is particularly interesting as it could influence the future of Cody Gakpo. The Dutch forward has been speculated to be attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City this summer. As previously reported, talks held on Tuesday aimed to clarify the situation surrounding Barcola’s potential move to Liverpool, with the player himself poised to commit to the Merseyside club.

Barcola has emerged as Liverpool’s primary target to replace Mohamed Salah, who has been a pivotal player for the team. Earlier this summer, the Reds began preparing a formal bid for Barcola, who has expressed a desire not to extend his contract with PSG, which still has two years remaining. He was notably absent from the matchday squad in PSG’s Ligue 1 opener, which resulted in a 2-2 draw against Rennes.

The 23-year-old French international is known for playing predominantly from the left wing, although he can also operate on the right side. His competition for playing time at PSG included notable talents like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue. Throughout the 2025-26 campaign, Barcola featured in 49 matches for PSG, contributing 13 goals and seven assists as the team clinched another Ligue 1 title alongside their European triumph in the Champions League.

A product of the Lyon academy, Barcola played a significant role for France in the recent World Cup, appearing in all eight matches and netting three goals. With Liverpool needing to upgrade their attacking ranks, Barcola’s smooth and direct playing style fits the criteria of what they are looking for in a forward. As fans eagerly await further developments, the completion of this transfer may bring renewed excitement to Anfield.
