Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala collapses on the pitch again, raising health concerns after a previous incident and a recent injury return.
Jamal Musiala has once again raised serious health concerns after collapsing during a friendly match against Heidenheim. This alarming incident follows a similar episode just days earlier while playing against RB Leipzig, heightening worries about his physical condition after a recent long-term injury.
The incident occurred four minutes after Musiala was substituted into the match at the 61st minute. Shortly after entering the game, he went down off the ball, prompting immediate medical attention as the team’s medical staff rushed to his side.
Despite appearing dazed, Musiala was able to walk off the pitch without assistance. This incident took place even after he passed medical examinations prior to the match, with Bayern Munich’s manager Vincent Kompany approving his participation based on the results. Conditions during the game were milder compared to the previous match where he collapsed, which has left fans and officials puzzled.

Musiala’s latest scare comes on the heels of another concerning episode in Bayern’s 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig. In that game, he entered as a substitute in the 81st minute, notably scoring a goal before showing signs of unsteadiness. His teammate Ismael Saibari quickly responded to catch him, preventing a potentially serious fall.
Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Max Eberl, reassured fans stating, “The most important thing is that he is fine. There is nothing to say about anything else,” while the club took measures to address the unfolding situation. Reports from German publication Bild suggested that heat reaching up to 33 degrees Celsius in Munich could have contributed to the player’s circulatory issues.
These consecutive collapses are particularly troubling given Musiala’s recent injury struggles, which include a fractured fibula sustained during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup that sidelined him for several months. After returning to action in January, Musiala dealt with an ankle setback that required meticulous management from medical staff.
Bayern Munich has been closely monitoring his recovery, particularly since he opted to sacrifice part of his summer break for an individualized rehabilitation program. The troubling sight of Musiala requiring urgent medical attention in quick succession has cast a shadow over his reintegration into the team.
As a precaution, the Bayern Munich medical team is set to conduct thorough examinations to uncover the root cause of these recurring health scares. While these tests are undertaken, Musiala is likely to be sidelined from training. The club is prioritizing his long-term health and will exercise caution regarding his return to competitive play.
