NBA YoungBoy discusses his heart condition, revealing he continued touring despite being diagnosed with a swollen heart.
NBA YoungBoy has opened up about a significant health issue that he kept to himself during his recent performances. In a candid appearance on Funny Marco’s Open Thoughts, the 26-year-old rapper revealed that while he was on tour, a doctor discovered a concerning condition: one side of his heart was swollen. YoungBoy expressed, “On tour, a doctor told me the left side of my heart was swollen and I never told nobody. I just kept doing every show. I finished my tour out like that.” This revelation sheds light on the emotional intensity of his music, as he added, “That explains the music though, right? She’s hurting.”
Despite acknowledging this serious condition, YoungBoy did not provide further details about its cause or any treatment he may be pursuing. He did clarify, however, that currently, music isn’t his main focus. “Music is not something I’m focused on,” he stated emphatically.
Although he hasn’t announced an immediate retirement, YoungBoy hinted at the possibility of concluding his career soon. When questioned about his future in music, he responded, “One or two” albums remain in his pipeline. His efforts in touring might also be nearing an end, as he confirmed plans for at least one more tour, stating, “I go on tour one more time throughout my whole life and that’s it.”
This news is particularly striking considering YoungBoy’s prolific output. At just 26, he boasts an extensive discography that includes nine studio albums and numerous mixtapes. Notably, four of his albums have claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200. Earlier this year, he released his latest studio album, Slime Cry, which peaked at No. 6 on the same chart, followed by the ML2 compilation in June. While his hints at retirement may leave fans concerned, YoungBoy stopped short of making any official announcements regarding the end of his music career.
