Savannah James, the wife of NBA superstar LeBron James, encountered poor service at a Hermès store in Milan, Italy, resulting in the dismissal of an employee. This incident was shared during an episode of the podcast “Question Everything” with host Danielle Robay.

On August 7, Savannah and her friend April McDaniel discussed their arrangements for a personal shopping experience at Hermès as part of their European trip. Upon arrival, they felt mistreated by a sales associate. McDaniel, recalling the moment, boldly confronted the situation: “I said, ‘We’ll be back for you. I’ll be right back. Baby, you caught the wrong one today.’” Interestingly, she described Savannah as “very nice,” a contrast to her own more assertive demeanor.

To remedy the unpleasant experience, the store staff later invited Savannah and McDaniel for a private showing complete with champagne and macarons, which Savannah characterized as an extensive display of luxury items. “They brought out everything,” she remarked.

This event follows another incident involving Savannah at a Chanel boutique in France, where a sales associate admonished her not to touch a particular miniature bag on display. Despite McDaniel not noticing signs prohibiting touch, Savannah reacted: “I can read. Very much so. And I can see very clearly. And there was nothing that said, don’t touch. And I’m in a merchandise store. That man said, ‘Don’t touch.’”

Hermès has faced allegations of racial profiling in the past, with notable incidents including the company’s treatment of billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey in 2005. Recent investigations have suggested that access to merchandise may be influenced by customers’ addresses and purchase histories, raising concerns about exclusivity.

In the midst of sharing these experiences, Savannah also addressed public perceptions surrounding her marriage to LeBron James, openly discussing the misconceptions of their relationship. The couple recently celebrated 12 years of marriage, highlighting that their life is not as “picture perfect” as it appears.
