Rafael Leao’s future at AC Milan is uncertain as Fenerbahce prepares a €60m bid with an enticing salary offer for the Portuguese forward.
Rafael Leao’s future with AC Milan is becoming increasingly unclear as Fenerbahce intensifies efforts to secure the star forward. With AC Milan contemplating a transfer fee between €50 million and €60 million, the Turkish club is eager to finalize discussions following early interest from both Premier League and La Liga sides that has yet to materialize.
Fenerbahce’s management plans to meet with Leao’s representatives in Milan shortly, although no formal offer has been submitted to the Rossoneri as of yet. The Italian club regards Leao’s move as crucial to financing more signings after bringing Mario Gila and Goncalo Ramos into the fold.
Leao, who is considering his options, is also hoping to attract attention from clubs in England or Spain. However, Fenerbahce and their rivals, Galatasaray, are currently the only teams that have made significant moves. To woo Leao, Fenerbahce is ready to present a contract worth around €10 million per season including bonuses, as they seek to outpace competitors like Galatasaray.

Recent reports suggest that Leao has spent part of his holiday in Turkey, fuelling speculation about his potential departure from Milan. The Rossoneri, however, are still waiting for their first official bid and are keen to make a decision soon.
Leao is anticipated to take additional time to assess his options, with plans to rejoin Milan for their pre-season tour in Australia. Before the World Cup, he expressed a desire for a new challenge, and according to reports, his stance has not softened since.
Despite the surge of interest from Turkish clubs, Leao remains hopeful that a stronger bid from a leading club in England or Spain might emerge before he finalizes his decision. Moreover, Gazzetta reports that the 27-year-old does not wish to remain in Italy unless he continues with AC Milan; however, he is open to considering a transfer to Turkey if the conditions are favorable.
Leao’s recent performances at the World Cup have yet to ignite wider interest, despite him scoring against Uzbekistan and contributing to a key goal in the match against Croatia. As the timeline for his decision draws closer, Leao is set to attend a commercial event in Brazil before officially reporting back to Milan ahead of the trip to Australia.
The Rossoneri will proceed with their preparations in Indonesia unless Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, or any other clubs submit an agreement before the pre-season matches.
