Rachel Tung Renewed Development Deal with ABC & Hulu

Veteran producer Rachel Tung has renewed her exciting development deal with ABC and Hulu, continuing her work on original unscripted programming.

Veteran unscripted producer Rachel Tung has officially renewed her development deal with ABC and Hulu, according to exclusive reports.

Under this renewed agreement, Tung will persist in her role of developing original unscripted programming for Disney while also serving as showrunner for selected projects aired on both ABC and Hulu.

Tung previously held the position of vice president of unscripted at Paramount, where she developed and served as showrunner and executive producer on the first season of the popular Hulu reality series “Love They Nader.” This innovative show featured model and actress Brooks Nader alongside her sisters as they endeavored to break into the modeling industry in New York. After its debut in August 2025, the show was renewed for a second season later that same year, although Tung stepped down as showrunner prior to the second installment.

In addition to her work on “Love They Nader,” Tung was also at the helm as showrunner and executive producer for the second season of the food and travel docuseries “Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi,” which received a nomination for outstanding hosted nonfiction series or special at the 2023 Emmy Awards.

Tung’s successful career includes producing other well-known series such as “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Kitchen Nightmares,” and MTV’s “Deliciousness.” The popular culinary competition show “Hell’s Kitchen” is gearing up for its 25th season. In contrast, “Kitchen Nightmares” initially aired for seven seasons from 2007 to 2014 before Fox decided to revive it for additional seasons beginning in 2023. Meanwhile, “Deliciousness,” which is connected to the MTV series “Ridiculousness,” aired for three successful seasons.

Adding to her diverse portfolio, Tung has also ventured into the true crime genre, co-creating “Homicide Hunter” for Investigation Discovery. This series, which ran for nine seasons starting in 2011, has evolved into one of ID’s longest-running franchises, leading to the spinoff “Homicide Hunter: American Detective.” Overall, Tung’s renewed relationship with ABC and Hulu points to her undeniable impact in the realm of unscripted television.
