Chelsea FC is prepared to sell Alejandro Garnacho after a lackluster debut season, exploring options to offload the winger this summer.

Chelsea are ready to entertain offers for Alejandro Garnacho this summer as manager Xabi Alonso initiates a significant overhaul of the first-team squad. The Argentine international has not made the desired impact at Stamford Bridge since joining from Manchester United less than a year ago.

Reports indicate that Chelsea is set to allow Garnacho to make a permanent exit this summer after an underwhelming debut campaign following his £40 million transfer. Despite an extensive contract that ties him to the club until 2032, the 22-year-old winger has struggled to secure a regular position in the starting lineup, especially given a tumultuous managerial situation that saw three different head coaches at the helm.

Throughout his first year, Garnacho featured in 43 matches but could only produce eight goals, with a mere single strike in the Premier League and another in the Champions League. His inconsistency has led the club’s hierarchy to reassess his fit within their long-term plans.

Garnering attention from clubs in Italy, such as Napoli, Juventus, and AC Milan, Garnacho’s marketability remains intact. However, it has been made clear by Chelsea that they are not interested in any temporary loan offers; rather, they will only consider permanent deals to recover their financial outlay.

As negotiations are yet to commence, a variety of European teams are closely monitoring Garnacho’s situation, with the Blues optimistic that his age and potential will attract lucrative offers as the transfer window heats up.

The decision to move Garnacho comes alongside Chelsea’s broader strategy to streamline their squad and bolster financial stability. As part of this initiative, Tyrique George has already completed a medical ahead of his permanent transfer to Everton, following a successful loan stint last season.

In pursuit of a squad revamp, Chelsea has indicated that several key players, including Trevoh Chalobah, Filip Jorgensen, Andrey Santos, and potentially midfield star Enzo Fernandez, are also on the list of players who could depart for the right price, all part of an ambitious plan to reshape the team.
