BigXthaPlug Arrested on Drug and Gun Charges

Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug was arrested in Texas on multiple charges including possession of marijuana and a firearm.

Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug has been apprehended in Texas on serious charges including driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, and illegal possession of a firearm. The police in Allen County confirmed that the 28-year-old, whose birth name is Xavier Landum, was stopped on the road last Friday and is currently being held at Collin County Jail.

This latest arrest comes as BigXthaPlug was on bail from a previous arrest on similar charges from a year ago. Known for his distinctive style that fuses southern hip-hop, trap, and country-rap, BigXthaPlug gained considerable attention with viral singles such as “Texas,” “The Largest,” and “Mmhmm.” He had recently taken to Instagram to announce upcoming music releases and was slated to perform at the Country Rising Festival on Friday.

However, festival organizers announced on their Instagram account that he would no longer be able to perform due to a personal emergency, leaving fans disappointed. BigXthaPlug has previously made headlines on the international stage, performing at the Wireless Festival in the UK in 2025, shortly before the release of his latest album.

Last August, he faced charges of unlawful possession of a weapon along with a small quantity of marijuana; that case is still ongoing. The artist has also faced similar legal troubles in 2022, raising concerns about his ability to navigate his career amidst repeated legal issues.

The latest incident comes as various unrelated news dominates the headlines, including reports of a military strike by Israel close to the Turkish border and an announcement from Canada’s prime minister about retaliatory tariffs due to an ongoing trade dispute with the United States.

The implications of BigXthaPlug’s legal troubles and their potential impact on his music career remain to be seen, but they add another layer of complexity to the life of a rising star in the hip-hop scene.
