Aston Villa engages in transfer talks for Chelsea’s Alejandro Garnacho following Morgan Rogers’ record sale to Stamford Bridge.

Aston Villa has reportedly entered discussions regarding a potential transfer for Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho after sanctioning the departure of Morgan Rogers. Unai Emery’s side is poised to receive a substantial financial boost from Rogers’ record-breaking £117 million transfer to Stamford Bridge, prompting immediate plans to seek high-profile attacking reinforcements.

Villa’s management has held talks regarding Garnacho, who is available to leave Chelsea this summer. The substantial windfall from the Rogers deal has allowed Villa to consider several options to bolster their offensive lineup. Although Johan Manzambi has already been identified as Rogers’ direct replacement, Emery remains focused on securing a speedy winger capable of breaking down opposing defenses.

The club had previously eyed West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville and Paris Saint-Germain talent Ibrahim Mbaye as primary targets. Mbaye recently enlisted the services of super-agent Jorge Mendes, who also represents Emery, further complicating the situation. Any final decision regarding Garnacho will significantly influence Villa’s pursuit of additional reinforcements, especially since Summerville is currently the subject of a bid from Serie A side Roma.

The ongoing negotiations indicate that should a deal for Garnacho not materialize or should he opt for another destination, Villa could pivot towards another Chelsea forward, Nicolas Jackson. Emery has long admired Jackson from their time together at Villarreal, leading the club to explore a potential permanent transfer for the striker.

Securing Jackson would add to Villa’s attacking options alongside established players Ollie Watkins and Tammy Abraham, although there remains speculation regarding Abraham’s future should a suitable offer arise.

With the new season approaching, Villa’s hierarchy must act decisively in the transfer market to solidify their attacking strategy ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. Replacing someone as pivotal as Rogers is essential for Emery, who needs to quickly integrate new talent to maintain competitive momentum.
