ASAP Rocky speaks out against comparisons to Rihanna’s wealth, emphasizing pride in her success during an interview on The Jason Lee Show.
ASAP Rocky is openly pushing back against the notion that he is a “kept man” because of Rihanna’s extraordinary wealth. In a recent interview on The Jason Lee Show, he expressed his views on the public’s tendency to compare celebrity couples.
During the discussion, host Jason Lee acknowledged how often conversations about star couples revolve around who is more successful or wealthier, prompting a back-and-forth about their achievements. Lee remarked, “Those types of comparisons have nothing to do with what y’all got going on.”
Rocky responded candidly, stating, “My woman got billions, I got multi-millions. Her success is never my demise. Her success isn’t mine, at all. I’ve done what I done for myself and I’m proud of what I did for myself.” His remarks underline his individuality and the significance of self-achievement, regardless of comparisons with his partner’s fortunes.
The Harlem rapper further elaborated on his confidence, asserting that outside opinions have no influence on his self-worth or his relationship with the ANTI singer and Fenty brands founder. “There’s nothing another n***a can say to me, especially a n***a with less money or less anything than me, to make me feel insecure or less proud about my woman being successful. The fuck sense do that make? What part of the game is that?” he added, emphasizing the proud support he feels for Rihanna’s accomplishments. “You know where I’m from. Like, nah, bro. I’m proud of that woman. She did that. That ain’t got nothing to do with me.”
In acknowledgment of Rihanna’s impressive achievements, it was noted that her net worth is estimated at $1 billion according to Forbes. Rocky’s remarks affirm his unwavering support for her and push back against any narrative suggesting otherwise.
Continuing the dialogue, Rocky mentioned Kanye West, referring to him as “my man” and added, “What single she supposed to be posting? She posted my album… after it went No. 1.” This reflects their mutual respect within the industry.
As the interview progressed, the conversation transitioned to light-hearted moments, including Rihanna’s playful teasing about an unspecified ‘X in the studio,’ further showcasing their relationship’s dynamic. Fans were quick to bring up former relationships, particularly Drake, in reaction to the playful footage shared.
