In court, Lil Durk named 6ix9ine, NBA YoungBoy, and others as people he hates, central to his ongoing murder-for-hire trial.
A notable message from Lil Durk to his manager was shown in court during the rapper’s murder-for-hire trial, in which he names Quando Rondo, among others, on what some have dubbed an “opp list.”
In addition to Rondo, Durk identifies Trina, NBA YoungBoy, Puke, Alexander Witherspoon, Buttercup, and even “the Feds” as people who “I hate and got some[thing] against me.”
Durk’s issues with Rondo are central to this trial. 6ix9ine has been repeatedly mentioned during the proceedings and publicly taunted Durk for not seeking revenge for the murder of his friend and labelmate, King Von. Whether the “Trina” mentioned is the rapper of the same name is still unclear.
According to reports, “Puke” is believed to refer to GG Puke, linked to the death of Durk’s brother, Dontay “DThang” Banks.
In 2019, Durk and King Von were accused of shooting and robbing Alexander Weatherspoon of $30,000 outside the Atlanta restaurant The Varsity. Initially, Durk faced multiple charges, including a criminal attempt to commit murder, but those were eventually dropped.
The 2019 incident may resurface in Durk’s upcoming trial on conspiracy charges, which will occur after the current trial concludes.
Currently, Durk is on trial for an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting Quando Rondo, believed to be in retribution for the 2020 killing of King Von, who was signed to his label, Only the Family.
The trial continued with testimony from OTF Jam, while OTF Vonnie explained how he felt Durk’s alleged murder-for-hire plot was executed without sufficient planning. Lil Durk’s former assistant claimed to have intended to provide the “structure” for the supposed hit.
The complexities of these testimonies, along with the relationships among the individuals involved, paint a troubling backdrop to the high-profile case surrounding Durk’s actions and relationships within the rap community.
