Usher addresses body double rumors from his New Jersey concert, firmly stating, ‘They can’t clone this,’ and confirms it was him on stage.
Usher is putting to rest the speculation regarding the use of a body double during his recent concert in New Jersey. The R&B icon took to social media to address the rumors, asserting, “Ya’ll are funny …. clone? They can’t clone this??” This statement came after clips from his show sparked debate online, with some fans questioning whether the performer on stage was indeed him.
Rumors about a stand-in arose after portions of concert footage circulated, leading viewers to speculate about his appearance and movements during specific moments of the performance. Some even suggested that Usher may have employed a body double while changing outfits or preparing for other parts of the elaborate production.
However, Usher was quick to dismiss these rumors with his candid response, making it clear that he was the sole performer throughout the evening. His straightforward comment left little room for misinterpretation, and he did not offer any further details beyond that.

The discussions around the body double coincidence come amid Usher’s attention-grabbing performances during his ongoing Raymond & Brown Tour alongside Chris Brown. During the concert at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on August 7, severe weather caused a delay, yet the night unfolded into a spectacular showcase lasting nearly three hours, complete with impressive choreography and surprise guest appearances.
One standout moment included 50 Cent’s unexpected entrance alongside Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda, performing a medley of classics from his album ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’,’ including hits like “What Up Gangsta,” “Many Men,” and “P.I.M.P.” This cameo capped off a busy evening for 50, who had already headlined a sold-out show with Fuerza Regida at Citi Field earlier that same night.
Additionally, the concert featured Jadakiss joining Usher for the track “Throwback” before teaming with Fat Joe for a performance of “New York.” Usher celebrated the 25th anniversary of his album ‘8701’ by performing hits such as “U Remind Me,” “U Don’t Have to Call,” and “U Got It Bad.” He also collaborated with Chris Brown for renditions of “Back to Sleep (Remix)” and “New Flame,” while Brown delighted fans with favorites including “Take You Down,” “Don’t Judge Me,” and “Residuals.”
Usher’s concert experiences have been engaging and memorable, providing fans with rich performances that have left a significant mark during the tour.
