Atletico Madrid plans to sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City after his loan at Everton, as his future at City remains uncertain.

Jack Grealish is reportedly being eyed by Atletico Madrid as they explore a potential transfer for the Manchester City winger. The 30-year-old recently completed a loan spell at Everton, where injuries curtailed his season, leaving his future at City in question.

According to sources, Atletico Madrid is considering a move for Grealish during this summer transfer window. The England international spent the 2025–26 season on loan at Everton, accumulating two goals and six assists before suffering a broken foot in January.

The Atleti management admires Grealish’s work ethic both on and off the ball, believing he could seamlessly integrate into Diego Simeone’s tactical setup. Speculation regarding Grealish’s departure intensified after he was notably omitted from City’s pre-season tour of Asia, although he rebutted the claims through his social media. He clarified, “Just to let you know I’m still recovering from an injury so I’m not training yet. Haven’t been ‘left out’ so stop talking poo poo thanks.”

City’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, also expressed his commitment to Grealish, stating the player remains an integral part of the squad. “He is a Manchester City player. I always said the same. In any club I join, I like to know if there are players that belong to the club. It’s my duty to try to coach them. Jack is here. I have a good relationship with Jack since I left. Also, we keep in touch, and the reason why is because he has a big heart and he is a very good guy. So this is the reason why and then we see what happens,” Maresca noted.

A transfer to Atletico would see Grealish return to elite European competition, as the Spanish side finished fourth in La Liga last season and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. However, should the move to Spain not come to fruition, it has been reported that both Everton and Aston Villa are still monitoring his situation.

Grealish has just one year left on his contract with Manchester City and faces the possibility of taking a significant pay cut if he decides to leave his current club, where he earns £300,000 a week. His immediate focus remains on recovering from his foot injury before making any decisions related to his future ahead of the summer transfer deadline.
