Kylian Mbappe’s Future at Arsenal Discussed

Mikael Silvestre discusses the prospects of Kylian Mbappe potentially moving to Arsenal in future Premier League transfer windows.

Kylian Mbappe’s future remains a topic of discussion, particularly regarding a potential transfer to the Premier League. Mikael Silvestre, the former France international, has weighed in, stating that a move cannot be ruled out. He believes that Mbappe should seek the “best platform” for winning major silverware.

Having become a star at Real Madrid, where he aimed to secure top honors, the forward has yet to find significant success in recent seasons, with the team experiencing a trophy drought. With 86 goals in 103 appearances across all competitions, Mbappe continues to excel individually, positioning himself as France’s all-time leading scorer and a record goal scorer at the World Cup finals.

Despite his personal achievements, the quest for team accolades fuels his ambitions. In order to cement his status as a Ballon d’Or contender, he needs to add La Liga and Champions League titles to his resume. During this time, he has watched Paris Saint-Germain, his former club, enjoy European success.

Arsenal, currently striving for their first Champions League win since their final appearance in the 2025-26 season, has been mentioned as a potential destination for Mbappe. Silvestre remarked, “I think it’s unlikely any time soon. Who knows in football, everything is unpredictable. Never say never, but I find it hard to see at the moment.” He believes that while Arsenal’s playing style could be a good fit for Mbappe, it ultimately comes down to winning trophies.

Bacary Sagna, another former Arsenal player, echoed these sentiments, stating, “If he joined the Premier League, I think Arsenal would suit him.” He described the young, dynamic players at Arsenal and suggested that their speed and synergy could complement Mbappe well. However, he remains skeptical about the transfer occurring, speculating that the forward might choose to stay at Real Madrid until he retires.

Should the opportunity arise for a move, Arsenal’s rich history with French talent could see them in contention for one of the sport’s most formidable signatures. However, with Mbappe under contract in Madrid until 2029, any shift would depend on his desire to leave and the happenings on the field, as he continues to chase the prestigious silverware that is currently absent from his collection.
