Andrew and Tristan Tate, known figures in the manosphere, were taken into custody by federal officers in Miami on Saturday afternoon, as confirmed by multiple reports. The specifics regarding the charges against the brothers have yet to be made public.
This arrest marks yet another chapter in the Tates’ fraught legal history. Previously, in 2022, the siblings were detained in Romania by anti-terrorism authorities amidst allegations of human trafficking and rape. Following prolonged legal proceedings, in 2023, the Romanian government formally charged them with these offenses.
Andrew Tate has publicly denied all accusations of wrongdoing. Following his release from house arrest, he expressed his faith in the Romanian judicial system, stating, “We’ve been completely innocent since the beginning of this, and I have to give absolute faith to the Romanian judicial system for finally making the right decision and letting us free.”
In a recent development, a Romanian court lifted all preventative judicial control measures against the Tate brothers, allowing authorities to conduct further investigations into the ongoing charges. This decision came as they awaited additional developments in their case.
Compounding their legal troubles, British prosecutors brought forward 21 charges against the Tate brothers in May 2025. These charges encompass allegations of rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking. Andrew faces ten charges related to three alleged victims, while Tristan is linked to eleven charges against one alleged victim.
The Tates first gained notoriety when Andrew appeared on the U.K.’s “Big Brother” in 2016. His time on the show was cut short after footage emerged showing him striking a woman with a belt, a situation both he and the woman later described as consensual. Since that moment, Andrew has transformed into a divisive online influencer known for his hyper-masculine rhetoric.
