Harry Kane is set to sign a new deal with Bayern Munich as Barcelona shows interest. Kane enjoyed a stellar season in the Bundesliga.
Harry Kane is poised to sign a new deal that will keep him at Bayern Munich, despite ongoing interest from Barcelona. The England captain is currently enjoying life in Munich, where he has experienced significant success, including scoring 61 goals across all competitions last season.
Barcelona is reportedly assessing how to finance a potential move for the Bayern striker. However, sources indicate that both Kane and his family are very comfortable in Munich, making a move less likely at this stage.
While Kane only has a year left on his current contract, both parties seem relaxed about the situation. With the World Cup in full swing, Kane’s focus remains solely on his performance with the England national team, which has been impressive thus far.
In a standout season, Kane reached his 70th goal of the year by scoring against Panama in a Group L match. His tally for the 2025/26 season includes 61 club goals and seven assists over 51 appearances. This scoring feat aligns him with elite company, as he is one of the few players to have achieved similar statistics, with Cristiano Ronaldo being the last to do so back in the 2014/15 season for Real Madrid.
This season, Kane has also lifted three trophies, namely the German Super Cup, Bundesliga, and DFB Pokal. Furthermore, he achieved the European Golden Shoe, becoming the top scorer across Europe’s top five leagues for the second time, only surpassed by legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Amidst speculation about his future, football analyst Thomas Tuchel praised Kane’s reliability, saying, “Harry Kane is as reliable as you can get. In football and in life, you want reliability. He delivers consistently, and England can count on him during the vital knockout phase of the World Cup. Any club aiming to win major trophies would want him as their striker. His stats are phenomenal, drawing comparisons to the likes of Messi and Ronaldo, underscoring his elite status as a striker. What remains to be seen is if Barcelona can entice him to leave Munich, given his happiness and his family’s well-settled life there.”
As the World Cup progresses, Kane’s immediate focus is on leading England. However, how the situation regarding his contract will unfold remains to be seen, especially with the ongoing interest from Barcelona.
